Loading bay
According to the International Property Measurement Standards (IPMS): Residential Buildings, published by the International Property Measurement Standards Coalition (IPMSC) in September 2016, the term ‘loading bay’ refers to:
‘Areas designated for vehicles next to or adjacent to a loading dock’, where a loading dock is an ‘elevated platform designed for receiving or dispatching goods or equipment.’ |
RICS property measurement, 2nd edition, published by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in January 2018, defines Loading Bay(s) as: ‘Area(s) designed for vehicles next to or adjacent to a Loading Dock.’
Where Loading Dock(s) as: ‘Elevated platform(s) designed for receiving or dispatching goods or equipment.’
